The 2nd race was at 1.30 on Sunday, it was bone dry and Warburton started the race. It was going to be hard for the duo to make their way up the field after the bad qualifying. The team had a good strategy for the race, but it depended on how fast Warburton could get passed everyone! Both cars had been repaired from last night’s incident, as the team worked all through the night, they did a great job!

Steve started the race and did a good job getting from 8th to 6th before handing over to me, I jumped in and 1st gear would not select, eventually after a while I pulled away in 2nd after loosing numerous amount of seconds. I then started pushing really hard, trying too make the positions back up.

I gained rapidly and picked of the positions one by one, I made it up to 4th with 10 min to go. Disaster almost struck as the Vauxhall Monaro was stationary on the apex of beckets and I had to take avoiding action at 150mph onto the grass! Luckily I escaped with only lost time.

I was pushing as hard as I could go in the last 10 min and made it all the way up to 2nd in the INV class! It was a good results considering where we had started and to be honest I was glad to finish the race after being taken out of the last two!

We are looking too next season now and there are several different options open at the moment, but we will have too see how it goes over the winter. We will try to raise the budget to do a full season of GT racing and go out with the sole aim of winning the championship.

The first race of the day was at 4.30 and like the team had predicted it stared pissing it down with rain. Edwards was starting the race and he had never driven a Porsche in the wet! The team sounded confident of their speed in the wet and it was up to the drivers to stay on the track and get a good result! This later proved hard as both cars got taken out. Edwards’s team-mate Al Mortimer got hit by a Ferrari and both cars smashed into Edwards!

We started 3rd on the grid and it was pissing it down with rain! On the start I overtook the Ashburn Porsche for 2nd place, and then later on the lap I got past the Quaife Porsche to get into the lead.

I then lead for the next 4 laps with Al Mortimer (my team-mate) right behind me. Then he got overtaken by a Ferrari, I was struggling for grip and just trying not to go off, which was very close sometimes! I kept my head and stayed in lead, despite the best efforts of the Ferrari to get past.

Then on lap 6 going down to the farm hairpin Al Mortimer went for a big lunge down the inside of the Ferrari of Smyth, but Smyth cut across him and they both made contact. I was turning into the apex of Farm hairpin and all of a sudden both cars smashed into me! They had both lost control and taken all 3 of us out of the race. All 3 of us limped back to the pits into immediate retirement.

I was really annoyed as this was the 2nd time in 2 weeks that I had been taken out of the lead! Anyway I am looking forward to tomorrow’s race, but the team have a lot of work to get both cars ready for tomorrow

This week Edwards/Warburton are at the Silverstone International track, Edwards said “testing went well and we ended up 2nd in class”. Nothing major to report for the duo as everything went smoothly.

First Qualifying went really well with Edwards sticking it on pole and 3rd overall in GT3, they had high hopes for the race as it looked like it was going to rain later on!

The second Qualifying Warburton took over, but unfortunately he could only manage 8th because on his new tyre lap he got held up by a slower car. Edwards said “This was very unfortunate as it’s going to be hard to get up the front from here, but im sure we can do something form here tomorrow!”

The 2nd race ended in disaster for Edwards and Warburton! They were leading by almost 17 seconds when a safty car came out, andjust before the green flag was given the GT2 Mosler of Phil Keen smashed into the rear of the RPM Porsch, which Edwrads was driving at the time. This cost them the Tag Heur 250 overall win and almost 60,000 pounds of damage. Edwards said “It’s stupid people like this that make motorsport dangerous, Keen is an utter idiot!”
Sean Edwards Race Report

This time we started 5th, so it was going to be easyier to get to the front, Steve started again and he got us to 4th before the pitstop.

The team then thought through a stratergy to get past some cars and it worked superbly! we went form 4th to 1st in the pitstop, it was amazing.

It was then left to me to push as hard as I could to gain over 15 second on the Kane Porsche to try and win the overall aggerate race. It was all going well and we were pulling almost 2 seconds a lap on the struggling Kane. I was just trying to keep up with Richard Westbrook who was leading the race but a lap down on aggerate. But then a few cars went off which brought out the safty car.

On the restart even before we got to the line the Mosler of Phil Keen smashed into me from behind! This picked my rear wheels off the ground and at that point I had no control, what was worse is that he did this 3 times before turning left and smashing me into the pit wall at 130mph!!!

He is a great danger to the other drivers, i dont know what the hell he was thinking. He seems to be thick in the head or somthing, this has made us loose the Tag 250 and cost us about 60,000 pounds of damage.

This brought a great weekend to an abrupt end, the team did great and both me and steve did a great job, it’s a shame that Keen has ruined this weekend for us. We can only look forward to Silverstone International now and try to win there.

The first race of the weekend was looking like a bit of a task for the Edwards/Warburton duo, but the two drivers and team had great strategy and went from 10th on the grid to finish 2nd in GT3! This was a great result but they have too make up a 15 second gap in the race tomorrow to Kane’s Porsche if they wanted to take the over all aggregate win of the Tag Heur 250. It’s going to be a huge task but they are confident that they can manage it.

Steve started the race and he really had to get past a lot of people if we were going to get any sort of result as it was only a 45 minute race. He started 10th and made some great overtaking maneuvers to get to 6th place before the pit stops. Then the team calculated a strategy that would get us past another 2 cars during the pit stops, it worked!

When I got in I was in 4th place and really had to push hard to catch 2nd and 3rd. In the end i caught and got passed both cars and found myself in 2nd place. 1st place was over 25 seconds up the road with 10 minutes to go, I pushed as hard as i could and got the gap down to 15 seconds by then end. This was a great job by all of us here at RPM, both drivers and the team did a mega job and we came through the field from 10th to 2nd.

Now we have to look to tomorrows race to try to win by over 15 seconds. It’s not going to be easy, but I think we can manage it with some luck.
